根據阿拉巴馬州政府指出，死亡人數提高至23人，包含數名兒童在內，超過2018年美國境內因龍捲風而死亡的人數。由於災區屋瓦碎片四散，搜救行動在入夜後暫停，白天將會繼續尋找失蹤的居民。

美國國家氣象局（NWS）指出，至少有2個等級達到「EF-3」的龍捲風襲擊阿拉巴馬州，瞬間風速高達266公里/小時，破壞路徑寬達800公尺。目前約有4000戶尚未恢復供電。美國總統川普在推特上表達關切，阿拉巴馬州州長艾薇（Kay Ivey）也在推特上警告居民可能會有更加極端的天氣。

美國東南部阿拉巴馬州3日遭龍捲風的強烈風暴襲擊，包含數名兒童在內，造成至少23人死亡，數十人受傷，電線杆也在風暴中遭吹斷，有超過2萬5千戶停電，該州宣佈進入緊急狀態。阿拉巴馬州管理局局長表示，阿拉巴馬州北部才遭洪水侵襲，如今又遭風暴肆虐，目前正在評估所有災難性損害中。阿拉巴馬州附近的州也隨即發佈大量龍捲風警報。

從影片中可看到，多棟房屋的屋頂遭掀起，車輛也被吹翻，路邊的樹木也被連根拔起或折斷。位在該州的李郡（Lee County）受創最嚴重，當地緊急救援單位接獲數十通求助電話，派出約150人救災。縣長瓊斯（Jay Jones）表示，龍捲風損害面積長達數公里，寬度至少達400公尺，數十棟房屋受損嚴重，「目前已確認有14人死亡，還有幾名情況較嚴重的傷者，另外，仍有多名失蹤者尚未尋獲。」
